Bill Petrovas announces his campaign for Mayor of Burnaby

A Burnaby resident since his family arrived in 1967, Bill Petrovas is running for Mayor on a platform of listening to every voice and respecting every tax dollar.

Bill Petrovas is running for Mayor of Burnaby in the October 17, 2026 General Local Election. His family has called Burnaby home since 1967, and he attended elementary and high school here before going to university on an athletic scholarship.

“This is a new chapter for Burnaby,” Bill says. “Residents are being asked to accept a lot of change very quickly. They deserve a Mayor who explains the decisions, listens before they are made, and treats their taxes like it is their money — because it is.”

Bill's campaign will focus on respect for tax dollars, housing that families and seniors can afford, safe streets and stations, stronger parks and recreation, and support for the small businesses that make Burnaby's neighbourhoods work.

The campaign is starting lean and local: door-to-door conversations, neighbourhood coffee meetings and a straightforward website where residents can find the candidate, the priorities and the key voting dates. Campaign events will be posted here as they are confirmed.
